Ukraine’s Trade Mark Data Goes Live on Europe’s Leading IP Search Platform
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Ukrainian National Office for Intellectual Property and Innovations (UANIPIO) have reached an important milestone in their institutional cooperation with the successful integration of Ukrainian trade mark data into TMview. As of 22 October 2025, UANIPIO’s trade mark records are officially accessible through the EUIPO-managed platform, significantly enhancing the visibility and accessibility of Ukraine’s intellectual property data at the global level.
The announcement was made during the Liaison Meeting on Cooperation, held in the presence of representatives from EU National Intellectual Property Offices. The occasion also marked the first official visit of Ms Olena Orliuk, Director of UANIPIO, to the EUIPO headquarters, where she was welcomed by Mr João Negrão, Executive Director of the EUIPO.
Advancing Ukraine’s Integration into the European IP Network
The inclusion of UANIPIO in TMview represents a concrete step forward in Ukraine’s integration into the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN). By aligning with established EU digital tools and practices, Ukraine reinforces its commitment to transparency, legal certainty, and international cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
This development improves access to reliable trade mark information for businesses, legal professionals, and rights holders, enabling more informed decision-making and stronger protection of IP rights across borders. At the same time, it strengthens institutional ties between Ukraine and EU Member States in the area of IP administration.
Nearly 600,000 Ukrainian Trade Marks Added to TMview
With UANIPIO’s participation, nearly 600,000 Ukrainian trade marks have been added to TMview, significantly expanding the platform’s coverage. TMview now contains more than 134 million trade marks originating from 80 participating intellectual property offices worldwide, making it one of the most comprehensive trade mark search tools globally.
For users, the integration ensures seamless access to Ukrainian trade mark data within a single, user-friendly interface, supporting efficient searches and comparative analysis across jurisdictions.
EU4IP Project: Supporting Alignment With EU IP Standards
UANIPIO’s integration into TMview has been completed under the framework of the EU-funded EU4IP project. This initiative is designed to support Ukraine in aligning its intellectual property system with EU standards, particularly in the context of the country’s EU accession process.
Through EU4IP, the EUIPO promotes digital transformation, institutional capacity building, and the adoption of best practices in IP governance, contributing to a more resilient and interoperable IP ecosystem in the region.
Flagship Tools and Digital Cooperation for Businesses and SMEs
The collaboration between EUIPO and UANIPIO is further strengthened through the EUIPO’s Flagship Tools IP Alliance, which aims to increase global awareness and effective use of digital IP services. A core objective of this initiative is to support businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, by improving access to tools that facilitate the registration, management, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
By integrating Ukraine into these digital ecosystems, the partnership contributes to innovation, competitiveness, and economic growth, while supporting Ukrainian businesses in operating more effectively within international markets.
TMview: A Cornerstone of Global IP Transparency
TMview remains one of the EUIPO’s most widely used digital tools, offering free access to trade mark data and reinforcing the Office’s commitment to global IP digitalisation and market transparency. Since its launch in April 2010, the platform has recorded more than 148 million searches, with strong and consistent usage from countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United States. The addition of Ukrainian data further enhances TMview’s role as a trusted global reference point for trade mark information.
Ongoing EUIPO Support for the Ukrainian IP Community
Beyond TMview integration, the EUIPO continues to support the Ukrainian intellectual property community through a broad cooperation framework. The EUIPO manages the EU-funded EU4IP project and supports the expansion of the SME Fund to benefit Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, reinforcing Ukraine’s path toward deeper integration within the European IP landscape.
