Description
Irimia & Partners has joined EPIC-X as a coaching partner, providing intellectual property guidance to women-led deep tech startups participating in the programme.
EPIC-X is a European acceleration initiative funded under the Horizon Europe - European Innovation Ecosystems (EIE) programme. It brings together innovation organisations from across Europe to support female-founded deep tech companies established in countries classified as moderate and emerging innovators. Twenty selected startups will participate in a six-month acceleration programme and receive a combined €1.2 million in grant funding.
The programme combines financial support with mentoring, specialist coaching, investor engagement and international networking, with the objective of helping participating companies prepare for commercial growth and cross-border expansion.
Intellectual Property in Deep Tech
For deep tech companies, intellectual property is rarely confined to legal protection. Patent portfolios, trade marks, industrial designs, confidential know-how and ownership structures frequently influence investment decisions, commercial partnerships and market entry strategies.
Within EPIC-X, Irimia & Partners will provide coaching on the strategic management of intellectual property throughout the early stages of company development. The firm's contribution will address issues including protection strategy, ownership of intellectual assets, commercialisation, portfolio development and the role of intellectual property in investment readiness.
The objective is not simply to secure legal rights, but to ensure that intellectual property supports the broader commercial objectives of the business.

Supporting Emerging Innovation Ecosystems
The programme focuses on founders developing advanced technologies in regions where access to specialist expertise, investment networks and international acceleration programmes has traditionally been more limited.
By bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and innovation organisations from multiple European jurisdictions, EPIC-X seeks to strengthen collaboration across emerging innovation ecosystems while improving access to practical support for high-growth technology companies.
For startups operating in science and engineering-based sectors, early decisions concerning intellectual property frequently influence future financing, licensing opportunities, freedom to operate and international expansion. Integrating IP considerations into business planning at an early stage therefore forms an important element of long-term growth.
Irimia & Partners' participation in EPIC-X reflects the firm's practice in advising technology companies on the protection, management and commercial exploitation of intellectual property.
The firm is pleased to contribute its experience to a programme that supports founders developing commercially significant technologies and looks forward to working alongside the wider EPIC-X consortium in assisting the participating companies throughout the acceleration programme.
